Activities : Thailand's New Ministry Of Digital Economy And Society To Be Soon Launched
Thailand's newly-established Ministry of Digital Economy and Society will start working soon.
Thai News Agency (TNA) reports that the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) has passed a law to establish the new Ministry of Digital Economy and Society since June 2016 and the law is expected to be published in the Royal Gazette by this week.
The new ministry, tasked with developing Thailand into a digital economy, will then start working with all agencies and departments being under the supervision of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Ministry to be reportedly transferred to the new ministry, except for the National Disaster Warning Centre, which will be reportedly transferred to the Ministry of Interior.
Meanwhile, the Thai Cabinet, at its weekly meeting on Tuesday, acknowledged the resignation of ICT Minister
Uttama Savanayana, paving the way for the operation of the newly-established Ministry of Digital Economy and Society.
